Bavaria
Bavaria is the biggest state and the one that better maintains
German traditions. It has many places of great beauty,
like its alpine zone -where it’s the Zugspitze peak
(2,962 ms) the highest of Germany -, and the Bayerischer
Wald National Park. The Bavarian mountains are hiking
and trekking lovers paradise and their lakes and dams
offer a wide variety of water sports practice possibilities.
Bavaria is also famous for its gardens and parks -such
as the Munich English garden- and for its castles and
palaces: Linderhof, Neuschwanstein and Herrenchiemsee,
among others.
Although the economic base is the industry, Bavaria maintains
a powerful agricultural sector, in which it emphasizes
the plantation of lupulo, for the processing of the famous
beer, and the vineyards. Munich is the capital of the
region, a modern city with animated breweries. It has
the Germany Museum, the greater collection in the world
history of natural sciences related objects, the Old Picture
Gallery and the Library of the State, that has more than
six million volumes. On the other hand, the city of Nuremberg
conserves, among other monuments, the monasteries of Banz
and Ettal and the Germanic National Museum.
